追悼式典には、ジャーナリストの遺族や「国境なき記者団」のメナール名誉会長、地元関係者ら約50人が出席しました。今年、新たに名前を刻まれた長井健司さんは去年9月、ミャンマーで反政府デモを取材中に軍の兵士に射たれて死亡しました。取材中に死亡したジャーナリストは1944年以降、2007人にも上るということです。
