1988年、ビルマの民主化を求め、非暴力運動を展開したビルマの学生たち。 彼らを待ち受けていたのは、ビルマ軍による無差別発砲でした。 犠牲者は1000人以上ともいわれています。
多くの仲間を失った学生たちは、隣国タイとの国境地帯へ避難し、「ABSDF（＝全ビルマ学生民主戦線）」を結成しました。その一部は武器を取り、現在もビルマ軍事政権打倒を叫び闘っています。
