集会の後半、演説する在日ビルマ人のリーダーの隣でスー･チー氏の写真を掲げようとした参加者を警察官が制止し、現場は一時騒然となった。
ある在日ビルマ人は集会後、「スー・チー氏の写真だけはどうしても掲げたかった。私たちはスー・チー氏のためならいつでも命を投げ出す覚悟だ」と話した。
