7月16日(土)公開の映画『いのちの子ども』の監督シュロミー・エルダールが、イスラエルより来日します。そしてエルダール監督の本業がテレビ・ジャーナリスト（現地の公共放送をはじめとするテレビ番組でキャスター及びレポーターとして活躍中）ということもあり、各分野でご活躍のジャーナリストの方々を迎えてトークイベントを行います。
当日は特別試写会の上映後にエルダール監督とラジオパーソナリティの小島慶子さん、ジャーナリストの山路徹さん、ブロードキャスターのピーター・バラカンさん、映画監督の森達也さんがトーク・バトル！
テーマは「極限状態でのジャーナリズム～映画『いのちの子ども』と震災報道に見るジャーナリズムの役割」。“紛争”という極限状態の中、民族や宗教の違いを超えていかに小さな命を繋いでいくかを描いた監督は、イスラエルでもトップニュースとして報道され続けた日本の“天災と原発事故”という、やはり極限状態の中で生き抜こうとする人々の姿に衝撃と感銘を受けて、日本に対しても大きな関心を寄せています。そんな監督と日本で活躍するジャーナリストの方々が、極限状態の中で生きる人々がどのように報道されてきたか？ またどのように報道されるべきか？ について、忌憚のない意見を語り合います。

映画『いのちの子ども』　とは？
パレスチナの小さな命を守るため、民族も宗教も乗り越えイスラエル人医師とジャーナリストが立ち上がった！
紛争の絶えないイスラエルとパレスチナ。余命を宣告されたアラブ人の赤ん坊が、封鎖されたパレスチナ自治区ガザ地区からイスラエルの病院に運びこまれた。博愛を掲げるこの病院のイスラエル人医師ソメフはガザ地区の最前線で20年以上取材を続けるイスラエル人テレビ・ジャーナリスト、エルダールとともに、赤ん坊を救うために民族や宗教の対立を越えて立ち上がる。その想いはただひとつ、「このちいさな命を救いたい」・・・。しかし行く手には様々な困難と、パレスチナ人のアイデンティティーと子供を救いたい思いの間で揺れ動き苦悩する母親の姿があった。ユダヤ人医師、貧しいアラブ人の母親そして家族、市井の人々の真実の姿を追った2010年イスラエル・アカデミー賞　最優秀ドキュメンタリー賞受賞他世界の映画祭で絶賛を受けた秀作ドキュメンタリー。
