多くの仲間を失った学生たちは、隣国タイとの国境地帯へ避難し、「ABSDF（＝全ビルマ学生民主戦線）」を結成しました。その一部は武器を取り、現在もビルマ軍事政権打倒を叫び闘っています。
2009年5月に来日したABSDF議長タン・ケー氏に、「ビルマでいま、何が起きているのか」「軍事政権が実施する総選挙は一体どんなものなのか」について話を聞きました。
